Default Part time light on after SYE Install

ok, so after doing the SYE mod on my 93 XJ, my part time light is on all the time. Any ideas what I may have screwed up? The case shifts fine; just the light problem, which worked correctly before the mod. thanks for any help

your wires for the sensor may have a short between eachother....or the sensor could be internally shorted(bad sensor)

grab a multi meter and start checking.

thanks I will check them today. Should they be open or grounded to turn on the light? I am assuming the sensor grounds to make up the circuit?

honestly i dont know!! i dont even know how many wires go to the switch!

im an electrician by trade...... if its one wire going to it, it would short to ground to complete the circut(this would be grounded to light the light, open would be off).

if it has two, it prob shorts the internal contact and sends power to the dash light.(this is where i say bad sensor or short between each other)

no matter what the switch should be open when light off, closed when light on.

hope that helps.
