Overhead console clock problem
So I just installed my OHC with no problems everything works but the clock just keeps cycling and counting up from 0... I figured it's just something that has to be set but don't know how...thanks in advance everyone!

Yep, that's the timer. As far as I know there is no clock on the XJ overhead console, just the radio clock. could be wrong though.

yup its active whenever the key is on. there's no clock. It'll tell you temp/direction, drive time, average mpg, current mpg, and distance to empty.
I've had two jeeps with this console, a zj and now my xj. I usually keep it on temp/direction. The avg mpgs is nice too. Don't rely on it to tell you how much gas you have left. There's always some after it hits 0. About a gallon (ask me how I know)

it will be close to correct with the correct speedo gear. just... prepare to be disappointed. the DTE is always wrong for me though, just like how the fuel gauge is always off. if i do the math, i average 14-15 on the highway on a good day and my OHC tells me 12-13.

Yea that's my issue... My gauge doesn't work for the first half tank... Is the float just messed up ? And is that how the dte is calculated?

i have never seen an accurate gauge on an XJ ever. if i fill up when the needle is laying on the middle of the E i can get 19 gallons in there. thats usually a while after the light goes on. im pretty sure thats how the DTE works, since it says i have like 20 miles left when the light goes on.. and thats not the case.
