ive got a 97 cherokee with about 5 inches of lift, the steering sucks so i called up a shop that does that kind of work, told them i wanted an over the knuckle steering kit and they gave me a quote of 1500 dollars for the steering kit, and that included the trac bar bracket... They need to move the track bar up i guess? Does that sound like a good price? im in the houston area if anyone knows someone that does that for cheaper cuz that sounds a little higher than what i wanted to spend.
Thanks
Thanks
Is that install? If so that seems high for just the kit. I like the rockyroad.com kit that they have its only 5oo and comes with everthing you need. I have it and works vary well.

Keep in mind that an OTK kit will require:
Removal of the trackbar bracket
Installation of an OTA trackbar bracket
Removal of the stock swaybar mounts (axle side)
Installation of new sway bar mounts
Trimming of the drivers side coil bucket
Those are in addition to buying the and installing the steering kit.
I'm not justifying the cost that was listed, just pointing out that this is not a simple bolt on upgrade.

Seems about right... figure 4-6 hrs labor at 100, then a new trac bar, and new steering. Plus moving the swat bar mounts. Sure you can do it cheaper.. sure there are kits out there that you can install, but you can not expect a shop to work for free

because you need to remount the tracbar on top of the axle to match the draglink angle. you could cut and reweld a old one or make a new one (i made a new one)
