First of all if this isn't tech please move it accordingly
So I searched and never came up with a definitive answer to my question.
At the moment, I mostly dd my rig, and it has 31" KM2's right now. My dad is going 50-50 with me on new tires and I am wondering if/how much power will be lost by going to 32". Right now it isn't the greatest, mostly going up hills it gets really tired, but I can deal with it right now. I know the best choice would be to regear bla bla bla but not everyone can afford that. Any input would be greatly appreciated
Edit: It has 4.0, 5 speed, 3.07

Thank you. I totally just made up my mind on 37's!!!!
FAWCK no I can't afford that!!!!
Not to mention the ensuing breakage of parts that would follow soon thereafter

if you're unhappy with the power on 31s, you'll probably be less happy with the power on 32s.
but, personally, i'd go with 33s and start planning on buying gears or maybe just jy axles from a 4cyl.

Go with 33's and start saving for gears. This is what I did. It kinda sucked running the 33's with stock gearing but I just regeared yesterday and it's awesome now.

Ive got 32's on my 99,stock gears and havent noticed a power loss. Not sure that a 1" jump is really worth money.Personally I would go 33" or bigger.

Here's what you do. Go w/a 33x10.50. The only tires in 32, are 11.50 wide so the weight will be about the same as a 33 and not as tall.
Since you have the 5 spd, find someone who just regeared their auto, and get their 3:55s, or hopefully their 3:73s for dirt cheap and run those. You can still use your old carrier.

It's not so much power just on flat roads I'm worried about, but hills. There could be something else going on too I don't know about because there is no reason my mom's YJ (258, 3 spd auto, 3.07's, 31's) should pull hills better than my XJ, but it does

I just put a rough country 3 in lift and Firestone Destination M/T 31x10.5 15s on my 01 5 speed cherokee. I think it's awful now, I'm trying to find a set of 3.55s. My gas mileage already dropped from 17-18ish to 14.0 and to get some power back.
I wouldn't get larger tires til you get some gears
