One ton steering upgrade.
I'm looking to put a one ton steer kit into my 99 xj, I have a 3" RC lift and 31s, looking for it to handle better, what should I expect on the install and what brands hold up well when beat on?

I hear good things about the Rusty's setup as well as the RE kit. What kind of handling are you looking for? Id go with a steering box reinforcement before the one ton upgrade. I am ordering a rugged ridge brace and a C Rok reinforcement kit.

Do you have an adjustable track bar? Unless your steering components are worn then it won't handle any different with a one ton setup (unless you go OTK).
-adjustable track bar
-ZJ tie rod
-steering box spacer

x2, that will do you fine. thats all ive done w/ 33's & a 4" lift, works great.

Doesn't the 1-ton kit like the Serious unit have better geometry than the stock upside-down T, and therefore better "handling "? Or is it too slight to notice?

There is no such thing as overkill on a Jeep! Serious 1-ton FTW!!! If your going to upgrade your steering why not go ahead and spend an extra bill or so and get the bad **** stuff?
