I've been doing alot of research on the ( endless
) different brands of lifts and have narrowed it down to two options. I don't want something cheap and I've read to steer clear of blocks or pucks. Just wanted to create my own thread and see if I can get some feedback on my choices. I'd like to note that I'm planning on running 31's and have no intention to go rock crawl up a mountain. I live 5mins away from Pismo Beach so most of my adventuring will be out there but I do love to play in the mud and enjoy trail riding.
Anyways
#1 OME, a name you can count on? Read nothing but good things about the brand and have determined that when it comes to BOTH off and on road there's nothing better (this is for my dd). But Wowza on that price!! I'm sure I could pick up some I the parts used off this and other forums but at almost 3x the price of the RE its a hard pill to sallow... I mean is it really that good? And also I've read that the kit can lift your rig up to 4.5 in some cases!! This is the kit http://dpgoffroad.com/products/22-5-...-hybrid-kit-2/
As for the RE kit i got a quote from this very site by a gentleman offering the RE6025T super-ride kit w/full leafs for just under 600. Rubicon Express is a well know well respected brand but I have read a few things that lead me to believe there kits focus more on the off road than the on. Does anyone run this? How is the on road capability?
I have no problem holding out till I can drop some serious coin into my baby to get the best... But is it really worth it?

I run a RE 3.5" with Bilstein 5100 , it rides great on road not as plush as my buddys XJ with a OME lift but asfar as ride offroad ride and performance you can not go wrong with either one .

a couple things to consider
look at the components in the kits
OME Shocks & Coil Springs
OME Hybrid or Dual Rate Leaf Springs
JKS Quicker Disconnects
JKS Adj Trackbar
DPG Swaybar Disco Cables
DPG Front Extended Bumpstops
HD Adjustable Rear Bumpstop Plates
Leaf Spring Bushings
ubolts
Rubicon:
coils
leafs
lower control arms
extended sway bar links
rear brake line
with the OME kit you are getting a crap ton of cool high quality add ons, thus the difference in price. but it does not come with arms
the rubicon kit does not come with shocks. so you'll probably have to buy shocks
you're over thinking it though. you're just going to be driving around and taking it to the beach you wont need disconnects or an HD track bar. just get the rubicon kit it's not a bad option for the price. you can always add to it later. both are good options

Story of life buddy. See with the Ome I'm think that as I'm saving up for it a can source and pick used parts like the discos and maybe the bump stops for cheap while saving up for the springs. I know from my reading the dirk @ dpg is great to deal with and I'm sure he could help me fill in the holes when the time comes.
Also that price on the RE was with shocks... Kinda hard to pass that deal eh

I would go with the RE. Like others have said you can add to it as you feel. Get it lifted and start enjoying it in stead of wishing it was done summer is comeing quick.

Does the RE kit come with hydro or their monotube shocks?
If I were you I would really consider the superFLEX kit. The arms have Joints on one end, which allow better flex.

As for the super flex I need something that's good on the road as well and, correct me if I'm wrong, the super flex focus's on offroad ability

I'm pieceing my rig together as I come by the funds to build it.
Purchased my leafs first

Ran like that for 6 months or so then coils

Tires when the others wore out.

I had purchased some stock length Edelbrocker Perfomer IAS shocks before I decided to lift it so I ran them for 3 years in the front then got the OME Nitrochargers. Ran the rears for another year or two then replaced them with the OME Sports, AWSOME BTW.
Now I have 80+k/5+ years on the leafs. Many a trips through the Adirondak mountains towin a 2500 lb boat. Now matter what you get, get a full set of leafs.
A couple months ago

The nice thing about OME is that you can get away with stock Track Bar, most cases don't require a SYE but would not hurt, control arms, etc. etc. and you might as well get the best you can get.
Do it right and do it once!!
