for those that dont know, the OM617 is the 3.0l mercedes benz diesel 5cyl found in late 70's to 1985 benz's.

I find the NSG370 to be an ideal transmission for the low revving OM617 because it will give me good road manners but still give me the ability to "crawl" in 4Lo.

I know initially there were a few problems with the wranglers equipped with these transmissions, but i believe they have the problems sorted out.

my cherokee currently has a blown 4.0l with a finicky AW4 behind it. i hate automatics, so a manual for this project is a given.

Has anyone swapped one into a cherokee before?
