Default Increase throttle response

Hi everyone,

I just installed a 62mm throttle body on mi remix.
to be honest i don't feel much of a difference.
Anything that i can do to improve my throttle response ?

Much appreciate.

Thank you.

Move your seat two clicks forward. That throttle body is a nice paper weight btw.

I think you're thinking of a TB spacer... Bored TBs actually can/do make a difference...

62mm? The manifold is 60mm.

Did you adjust the TPS?

hahaha! ill try the seat move... maybe works ...

I did adjust the TPS cruiser54, but no luck, ...

Maybe fuel pump? or injectors ? restrictive exhaust ? i haven't change to headers and high-flow cat yet, ... at this point i don't know if it would make a noticeable difference ..

Check for slack in the throttle cable

Did you adjust the engine or trans side of the TPS?

I think this might be part of the problem for ya. The newer intakes have the larger diameter 62mm. What air filter system are you using? Your exhaust might also be part of the problem- that extra air needs to go somewhere

Exhaust isn't an issue. I've done three 60mm throttle bodies with stock intakes and exhausts with no issues.

He means the exhaust is too restrictive to take full advantage of a 62mm bore, not 60mm. As in, not worth doing one without the other.

Though the stock exhaust is kind of restrictive without doing any mods...

Ive never really looked the renix intakes, its there anything stopping you from boring the intake manifold on them?

No. They're 60mm already with a 52mm TB on them.

Exhaust is NOT an issue BTW.

I certainly don't want to argue with you but I don't understand how it could not be. If the engine is pulling in more air thus making more combustion, then there is going to be more exhaust. I understand that it is not the "air" that creates the combustion but the oxygen but still all the excess intake results in excess waste. If the stock exhaust is designed for a certain amount of waste and you exceed that, how does that not impact performance? Not to mention the impact of semi clogged cats, dented pipes etc. The more exhaust that is left in the cylinders the less air that can be taken in thus negating the impacts of a larger throttle body (and hopefully more efficient air intake system).

If I am wrong by all means tell me why (I know you know alot more about the Xjs than I do) but I would believe that sucking in more air would require more exhaust flow to maximize the usefulness of the extra oxygen/combustion. Maybe it is not an issue but certainly he could get more out of his setup if he had a more efficient exhaust. At least in my eyes.
