Can anyone tell me what the AUTOZONE part number is for the oil seal needed when doing a two-piece to one-piece axle swap (d30 axle)?
I have 1989 cherokee with two piece front axle shaft, I got the one piece axle from the j yard but I need the seal that should now go in the cad area of the axle. For now I just grabbed two seals for the driver side and used one of those temporarily till I can get the right one. It is leaking badly now!
Everyone says get Napa p/n 11800 but I went into Napa and that part number brought up different looking seals than the ones I need.
Please don't google it and repeat the info you read there, I have read it already also and its not helping me.
What is the AUTOZONE part number?
Thanks for any help.

This is the one I chose.

I measured the ID of the axle tube and OD of the axle shaft and it is the right size. I've read other people that have done this conversion have used it also. I have yet to actually install it.

look at justdifferentials.com they have a kit which includes the axle seals for both sides, the cad housing gasket(i still just used black rtv), c-clips because some axles have those, new hub nut cotter pins and a block-off plate. it cost around $50 but it has everything you need as far as parts. You'll just have to dremel or use a rotary file bit aka bur bit to increase the inside diameter of the passenger side axle tube. I used a bur bit and mine sealed good. make sure that you get the seal positioned in the axle tube in the same area as the seal surface on your axle or youll more than likely still get a leak.

There are a poss of 3 different seals for the Pass side conv.
The seal will NOT look like your typical inner axle seal. It will be a reg ole flat style seal.
what ever you get, get 2 of! put them BOTH in. They will be very thin, about .25-.375" wide and you can easily get two in there. If you only put one, you likely will leak at some point, some only after the first 100-500 miles.
Clean the tube well where they go! They do not sit in a machined area on the conv. Its just the raw axle tube. so clean it well, and use some rtv on the outside of both.
The most common are 11800, or 11585. There is the very elusive occasional 11776 that is needed though, especially on early years. Only way to really know is to measure or test fit each.
I also sell the conv kit that is mentioned. Only issue with the kits though, is that they do Not come with that 3rd optional seal, that the early model takes on occasion.
