Default Oil pressure gauge

Searched and didn't find what i was looking for. Would like to get a mechanical oil pressure gauge (brands?) I understand i need to do some work with fittings. How do i go about getting the oil pressure sending unit off? Is it 1/8 thread too? Is it to the rear passenger side of the distributer going in horizontal? (1991)

Mine has one but the PO put it in. I'm in the process of figuring out how it was done but when I do I'll let you know.

You use the same hole as the dummy light, just a different sensor. The dummy light sensor is a pressure switch, no oil comes out. The mech. one is for an oil line. Just run the pipe from there to your gauge. The sending unit unscrews. You should compare thread sizes with the one that comes with your gauge. Personally, I'd start at the gauge end and work your way out to the engine.

Are you going to leave the Jeep parked while you do your oil pressure gauge? I only ask because you seem very unsure about this project. And once you pull out the sender, you can't drive it til it's all done. If you get all the parts you need together first, including the gauge (which will come with instructions) it will be much easier to accomplish. I put one on a non Jeep and it was very simple. **But to answer your question, just unhook the connector and use whatever size wrench fits the sender. If you have enough clearance, a pair of pliers would work. Good luck!

I'm sure after you get the gauge and look over the instructions that came with it, you'll see what an easy project it is. OH, I see it's been a few days. Did you already do it?
