Why so much hate towards the leaf. If I was rock crawling I wouldn't dream of them. Watching a bunch of different vids of rigs on leaves in the snow. Looks like they do just fine. Like sas yotas blazers bronchos. That's ware the idea cam from. That and the wrangler. Those seem to do just fine off road too. I ain't veture to say rock crawling is there mayjor ability tho.

On the other hand. If I go ling arms its a lot less work. Its a toss up right now. I would like to get to six inches of lift.

Any of you gents want to share your running gears recipe.

Leaves work pretty well up front if done right, they will flex ok, and they are very predictable during hill climbs.

But it will take a little fab work like plating the frame rail and strengthening the front crossmember. Along with building and welding the spring mounts on the outside of the frame rail. Compared to a coil setup its simple, but still some work

Its a lot more simple to reuse the stock four link and drop brackets. In the end leafs will probably cost more seeing how he is fabbing up the bits and bobs for leafs why not order coils, rear leafs and fab up long arms? I mean if your fabbing **** anyway I see no reason to fab in leafs.

O no, I agree with that.

I was really comparing building a coil setup from scratch compared to building leaf setup from scratch

I still went with coils its worth it in the end. Price wise for a good leaf setup that isn't hobbled together isn't any different. Build your own control arms and mounts, coils cost ~$150 not exactly breaking the bank hell I have johhny joints on both ends of my control arms and didn't break $1000 in parts including rear leafs and an entire front axle assembly...(this is still on my truck)
