I'm sorry to add to the numerous threads on this, but I have looked high and low and cannot find the answer I am looking for. I have a 1999 jeep Cherokee classic with no factory fog lights, but in the bumper there are cut outs for them. I made a bumper and put 4x4 Cree fog lights in it, but I want them to come on with low beams, but I cannot find the wires in the engine bay for fog lights. However there are wires where the factory switch is supposed to go. So are there any oem fog light wires in the engine bay? And if there is where are they located?

You could do it the cheater way... Splice them into your low beam hot, run a nagative to the frame. Only issue is they will always turn on with low beams, not sure if this would be what you are looking for. Also, trust me here as I am dealing with it, the wires you see from where the switch go are more or less just empty wires. I haven't determined where they go, but they don't match any switch type, it's a little two wire keeper that's there for no apparent reason that I can tell. Maybe cruiser54 has some insight to these dummy wires?
I can't help with wiring them to come on with your low beams but this might still help:

I bought a set of Hella 500's and used the wiring they came with, but connected a factory fog light switch on the dash. It looks and functions like OEM, but utilizes the Hella harness.

Purchase an aftermarket switch. The hole where the factory switch would have been is just a knock out. Install new switch where factory one was designed to go. Use a single throw single pole rocker

Sorry I didn't explain. There is a squeeze clip in the back of the switch plate when you depress one end of it it will just pop off. Part to squeeze is at the bottom of blank plate shown above

Now, if you wire it so they have power with the low beams, but use a separate switch for turning them on when needed....that's much better.
I ran my own wiring, but used a factory switch.

Why would you want to do that ? Then you will always have them on, and they are not always needed.....all it will do is blind & annoy other drivers.

What you need is a wiring harness that allows you to turn them on with the low beams and not high beams. Your switch is still going to be a simple on off switch as I described (single throw single pole) but they will only engage with the headlight low beam.

in simple terms, mount the switch for your foglights, then wire in a relay to send power to the foglights...make sure the relay gets it's signal power from the feed to the low beams, or wire in a separate switch if ya want to allow you to use them WITH your high beams on if you need to.
That way, the switch will turn them off or on if power is available to the low beams (or parking lights), and if the switch is on low beam, they WILL NOT come on unless the low beams are on, and if you switch to high beams they will turn off.......and if you turn off your headlights (like drop to parking lights), they will also turn off, unless you engage the high beam defeat switch.
Here is a diagram....red is 2 switches that are either on or off, blue is 1 switch that is on-off-on
