np242 and 231 interchangable parts??

np242 and 231 interchangable parts??

do i have to replace the whole np242 j case when swaping it to a np231 j ?? they look about the same. has anyone ever tried to swap out just the "guts"?

Cant swap the "guts" cases are different enough to prevent it.

With the right input gear it's a bolt in swap anyway..

i figured that you cant do that. i know either case fits the aw4 trans.
