I put just the main leaf from an Blazer in an XJ pack and netted about 2.25" of lift. I was planning to use MJ shackles too, but I was only looking for 2"

I just rock an s10 pack, got rid of my XJ leafs all together. Shackle relocation boxes and some autozone "lowering shackles" that cost $30. The s10 pack pushed my axle back 1", which is great for stuffing 33's and carries weight wonderfully when I moved recently. The rear is 4.5" high and I am limited by my shocks on down travel.

Any particular reason you want to run an extended shackle? I'm looking to get the same amount of lift out of a bastard pack but was planning to keep the stock shackles.

Hmmm what year S10 for the bastard pack? Is it just the leaf springs out of those or anything else?

Longer shackles allow the leaf spring to flex more by allowing the rear mount of the spring to move in a greater arch relative to the body

I dont know what year I grab off the spring racks, I'm guessing mid 90's and with an overload spring. pretty much any spring under axle vehicle will work that are 2.5" wide.

I would assume he has an sye and driveshaft combo to accomodate for the lift so the shaft would just extend out more but I don't know his rig
