Default new tires

its time for new tires. my tire size is 285/70r/17. i know the 17 stands for the rim size but ive gotten about 10 different answers for the other dimensions. I know i can get a true answer on here from somebody who knows what those dimensions really are haha if someone could help me? Also i would like to buy a wider tire so i could use some help on what dimensions i need to look for for that also?

The exact (according to my chart) is 32.7X 11.2 x 17. So you would be good with 33x10s or 33x12s (the wider one your looking for). There are not alot of 33x12s (that I have found) in comparison to the 33x10s but if you look online you should be able to find some.

285 stand for width
70 is hight of sidewall
17 is what size rim it's on.
That tire is almost a 33/11.00r17.

Pretty much this, but more specifically the first number is width in millimeters, and the second number is the height of the sidewall as a percent of the first number. Rim sizes will always be in inches.
