Don't waste you time on injectors. The OBDii models don't do as well with them. The ECM will just reduce the time they flow so you basically get the same ammount of fuel as with stock. I ended up swapping mine back in from the neon ones and it actually runs better with the stock ones.

Yeah im just going to buy the ho option with the stock head an maybe a year down the road get the jy head an port it myself because besides the motor an exhaust system I still have to drop about another 5 grand in other upgrades this month, my goal is to rip her down to rolling body an rebuild from there an everything except transmission, transfer case, wiring, an engine accessories will be replaced. As far as the map sensor slick im going to just build my own too an that thread was great so thanks again, only thing im going to do different is seal the box inside another waterproof box I've built to hold the computer also

that head number is the casting number man... a stock head... same prices... just tell him you want one with a head with that casting number... or tell him your want one FOR a 94 cherokee... maybe the one they rebuilt and give you is also from a 94 XJ... which will give you that head...
What other modifications would entail if i bought the 94 motor? I imagine the ecu maybe? and xjmarc as far as the benefit from the 703 injectors, since they dont do much for the obdII jeeps can i not just switch the ecu out with a 91 to 95 model? Thanks for all the help so far guys

My '96 was made in late 1995 - you think I've got that head or the later '96 version? Any way to check numbers?

Your '96 is still a '96. You just got an early build.
The casting numbers are under your valve cover. Pop the cover off and you'll see them (you may have to clear away some sludge to see them).
