New lift binding u joint
First of all I am not suprised and I have not yet followd all directions.
I just finished installing my RC4.5 X-series lift and it sure looks good, we will see how it does once its on the road. In all my brilliance I decided to use the transfer case crossmember as a jack point..... and it bent abot an inch up. Seeing this I have decided to hold off on installing the t-case drop kit until I find my solution. The way I see it my choices are...
1. Install drop kit on bent crossmember and hope for the best
2. Install drop kit on Pick N Pull crossmember
3. Get a Rusty's drop t-case crossmember and not lose any clearance
4. ????????
Also what are your feelings on 6 degree shims for the rear.
Thanks all

Well I guess you learned a valuable lesson
I would say your cheapest bet is the Pick and Pull cross member with drop kit. I wouldnt trust the bent one especially with that much deformity. It's a pretty important piece of equipment. Im not the best to ask about shims as I have never used them or ever been exposed to them.
I will say since you have the 4.5" lift I was under the impression you will need more than a t-case drop to correct the drive line. hack and tap kit and shorter drive shaft was what I was thinking of. Good Luck!!

If you have the equiptment take the Crossmember off get a torque (if needed) to heat it up then beat it back to how it was (make sure after you get it beat/bent back the metal is still strong)
