New larger tires on stock rims?
Interested in putting a larger tire on my stock rims! Stock tire is a R235/75R15... believe a R265/75R15 is to big for an un-lifted Jeep! Has anyone run a R245 or R255? Interested in recommendations! This is mostly a city Jeep with only an occasional off-road weekend! Thanks for the comments!

Cherokee or Grand Cherokee?
235s are larger than stock. Assuming it's an XJ Cherokee you're looking at a 30 max without trimming your fenders and you're going to rub at full turn, but not bad and it's perfectly fine for mostly on road use.
If you want bigger than 30s without a lift you're going to have to trim your front fenders and cut and fold the rear. I'm running 32s without lift like that and I rub at full turn, still not bad, and my up travel is limited, but it works for me. I'm also bump stopped appropriately. Wouldn't go higher than 33s with just trimming.
Don't quote me on it but I think you can run 30s or 31s just fine on a ZJ, but I could be wrong.

It's an XJ. Got it in the shop this morning and had them roll a 265 up against it on the ground and it looked too big for the wheel well. Not wanting to do a lift but the 235's look smallish and was wondering if anyone had experimented with something larger then a 235 but smaller then a 265! Thanks for your thoughts!

265 is too big. I have a 2 inch lift and sit on 265s. They only rub at full turn. But I highly doupt they would be good for stock height. I also had 235s at stock height. 245s should be ok. Not sure about 255s.
Here's mine. 2" front and 2.5" rear. 265s. Firestone Destination at tires. Which I like a lot. And will buy a new set soon....got these used for free!
