Default new headliner mod...

not sure of this is the right section, but decided to recover the headliner in the jeep today. used marine corps digitan camo (tan) i picked up from hancock fabrics. less than 30 bucks for materials. just gotta put in the grab handles and console

How'd you get it to stick up there? Is that the stock foam type stuff under the fabric? Reason i'm asking is mine is starting to fall down and the 3M glue spray looks like crap. Definitely want new fabric.

thanks for the compliments. i just cleaned the old foam off. it was a ***** until i got creative. i used a broom to "sweep" it off. it came off fairly easy. i used 3m adhesive sprayed on the board, not the cloth. ive done a lot of headliners so it wasnt hard at all. im a marine so my jeep is gonna be painted desert tan with tan interior.

Awesome thanks found out my second weekend project along with cleaning the throttle body.

Yup... i absent-mindidly forgot to do that part... which totally sucks. lol

Use a wire brush next time to remove the foam. Just got to take it easy. Comes right off

I took my headliner out this past weekend to mount some new roofrack rails, but mine is just a bunch of foam padding with fabric over it. Are they all like that or just my 89? If so what years had a the better headliner?

Its a pressed fiberglass insulation with a foam backed fabric glued to that
