My new in this forum
I have a several classic car but just resent both a Jeep Cherokee which is the cheapest one I own but the one that gives me almost most pleasure
I am actually right now sitting in a train on my way to pick up a 2006 Vw Passat tdi 170 hp and 350 nm from Copenhagen to a little town Hjørring My plan is to swap the engine from vw to my Jeep which is a small 2,1 Renault engine
So I will try to Opdatering you guys whit my progress

I have just red that my trany is a properly ax 5 transmission 5 speed which is a bad one ? My question is is the ax 15 a better one or du you guys recommend another one ? ( do tremic make one that can be bolted on a conversation kit from Td convertion

As far as the AX5, it was intended for use behind a 4 cylinder engine or the old V6.
Not a bad transmission. It won't hold up to Jeep's 4.0 straight six cylinder though.

I'm not familiar with the European versions of TDIs. I know y'all seem to have more powerful TDI engines in Europe. Here in the US, a TDI swap is a pretty popular swap for an XJ. The ALH engine code 1.9L TDI is the go to for these swaps. The ALH came with 90hp, but with a bigger turbo and a proper tune, I've seen them at around 180-200hp. Of course, the torque number is what these engines are all about. I know I'm ranting... lol.
