New Guy here
Hey guys/gals,
I am new to this site. I am still very new to Jeeps and am still learning. I bought an 07 JKU and it's just about done. Put a 3.5' Rock Krawler Mid Arm on and 35's. That's as far as that Jeep is going. I really want to build a prerunner style XJ, but I need your guys' help. I know only the very basics about the XJ. I have found suspension kits for the front end that will take that type of offroad abuse (Ex.. Rusty's Offroad), but I cant seem to find anything for the rear. I see only leaf spring packs and shock upgrades. Is there a kit available on the market that would fit my build? I am in the desert with tons of open area and that's what i want to burn up. I don't want to build a crawler. What would be a good engine choice for my application? 4.0 stroker? I am still in the planning stage just trying to get to know whats out there and what to look for. I appologize for starting a new thread for this, but I just couldn't find what I was looking for. Thanks in advance for your guys' input!!

If you want to get into prerunner XJs look up Jeepspeed. There are companies that make parts made for that type of offroading and XJ. Check out Currie, T&J Performance, as well as Deaver who makes some of the best leaf springs out there (price reflects that as well).
I've always liked these and hope to see your build up.

No, i was thinkin 35's at the absolute most. I got 315's on my JK and the fit perfect so I have no use for a bigger tire. Im still pokin around the web, but I got distracted buy XJ's youtube videos. I kept watching over and over.. I wasnt sure about the rear end, but from the looks of things Deaver makes a very quality and highly tested leaf spring. So I will plan on a Rustys front and the Deavers out back with some nasty shocks all around. Thats only the beginning I know, but surprisingly you can build a nice quality rig at a pretty decent price. Im already lookin far cheaper than my JK.
