The new Grand Cherokee
Good evening gentlemen,
First of all I'm new on this forum and please excuse me if this topic was discussed before..
Second , my native language is not english , so please excuse my wrong spellings .
Going on , I have the pleasure to own a 2007 grand cherokee . Nothing bad to say about it , no problems , just pure driving.
But her time is all most over .. . I fell in love with the new model.
Unfortunately when I visited the showroom where I bought the first one , they told me that the car's engine is fabricated in italy.
I asked FIAT? The dealer was a bit locked with my question. He tried to relax me , saying that the motor is the Mercedes Benz ML300 ,not fiat .
I'm not pretty sure about it's quality , so please can you give me more info about the engine.
Thanks in advance!

here in the states, the V6 is a chrysler sourced pentistar V6 built in either US or mexico, and the V8 is also chrysler made in Mexico
the transmission might be a MB, not sure, the chassis is shared with the MB ML class
the engines where you are may be different though

My current car has chrysler engine and Mercedes transmision.
I'm talking about the diesel engine , the only gasoline engine that they import is the SRT , wich is useless here..
Now I've heard that the previous 2000 version had the same combination . Those cars had a big malfunction between the american engine and the european transmision.. Wich makes me to believe that the story is true.. They've changed the car..

mercedes has been in the diesel game for a long time. there auto Diesel are on par with commercial semi Diesel in terms of longevity. well maintained they can put down 500,xxx+ miles by the time they need a rebuild and generally that's a refresh on the top end. valve guides and seals with a standard valve lap. then off you go again.
