New control arms sound like hell
Alright guys, I will admit im not the smartest guy out there, but this seems really simple and im now upset. I bought all new Currie Johnny joint arms. I installed only the lowers. Springs and shocks were all ready done months ago so that is straight up all I touched was the lower arms. I used a rachet strap to help pull the axle to make room for the longer arms. i made sure both arms were the same length and installed them to about 75 ft lbs of torque, i got out the got out the grease gun and greased everything up, when I drove it sounded like i was making popcorn, a ton of poping sounds. verything drove fine and i checked everthing is tight and there is no play in the arms, currie said they should not make these noises?

That's real hard to diagnose like this... I have those arms and they don't make a sound. Is the nut on the arm tight enough? (if their adjustable).

I grease my joints before I put them in and move them around to spread it out. If you put them in dry then put the grease in it's prolly just at the zerk and not all in the joint.

The nut should be tight enough to stay put I guess. I really cant imagine control arms making that sound. Maybe something else is loose? When u installed them, did it increase the length a lot from what it was? Maybe you messed with the pinion angle and you're hearing your drive shaft?

could be the track bar. if you moved your axle, the track bar had to of moved.
quick and easy, check there.

OKAY had some time to get it all taken care of the stock trac bar was really close to the bracket and I thought it was hitting it and making the noise, nut it was actually because the jam nut wasnt tight enuf, problem solved, jam nut!
