Default New Cherokee Sport owner needs help

So im considering buying a 1993 jeep cherokee sport. It is lifted on a RC 4.5 inch lift and has 31 inch tires. its a 2 door and its manual. My only fear is that it has 239k.... i was told jeeps last til 400k but my dad doesnt believe that for a second. The owner of this cherokee sport said:

239k highway miles
Oil always changed, no leaks
Shifts smooth no grinds
4-wheel drive goes in and out perfect

what else should i be concerned about? will this car make a good Daily Driver for me?

i have to speak to the guy tonight when he gets out of work. But i asked him quickly (because he was busy at work) hows the engine tranny clutch body etc and he only responded with "you wouldnt even be able to tell it has 239k honestly" so he seems to take care of it?

Im going to ask him about the :
tranny
clutch
rust
and i was told brake lines?

im gonna see how he takes care of it and ill look for rust. he said it was mainly highway miles so i assume it wont be rusty, he just lifted it a week ago. and the person is asking 1500 for the truck.

im a VW driver so a truck is 100% new to me

i would wonder why he just lifted it & now wants to sell , could have some vibration issues from the lift & he doesnt want to deal w/ fixing them so hes just getting rid of it. drive it & you will know quickly , will it track straight when you let go of the steering wheel ? the price is ok unless you are buying someones problems. proceed w/ caution i say. if your state has required safety inspections will seller have it done & make sure it passes.

Dang what state are u in?? Here in oregon that would go for like 4k. My 96' with 150k on it and bone stock with a couple problems when I bought it, and it still cost me $3k. Lifted ones, even crappy and branded/reconstructed titles, here go for 5k+ easy. Some up to 10k on occasion.

I paid $500 for my 95 sport with 198k. 1500 shouldn't be too bad unless there is a lot of drive line vibes. The 4.5" RC kit is pretty cheap though so don't let him try to convince you that it's so expensive.

how long will a jeep like this usually last if i keep up on oil changes?

and do things usually start breaking more and more around this age? 239k.

If it was taken care of correctly and if you continue to take care of it, it can last a very long time. Jeep xj's do make noises. There not quiet by any means. But deff drive it. Get a feel for it. Crawl under it and check for play in the drive shafts. Make shure it dont click when u turn. Check all fluids etc. they are great trucks and will deff get you around wherever you need to go.

It all depends on how well he maintained it. If the engine bay looks like crap and every bolt you see is rusted, chances are he hasn't kept up on maintenance. Ask for service records and if he doesn't have any but claims things were replaced, inspect what he says was replaced. There's more to maintaining a vehicle than just oil changes.

2-Door XJ's are prone to cracking at the B-Pillar.
