i have a 96 cherokee with 4.5 rc lift.. i went to raush last month and im going again this sat, ever sence i have wanted to do more rock climbing. now i have stock driveline dana 30 up front dana 35 in rear i wont be off roading all the time but atleast once or twice a month besides the typical field donut. now everywhere i read says get rid of my axles they will leave me stuck somewhere . so i been looking for xjs with dana 44s i found some and ready to pick them up and put them in but what all the i have to change to get them in my jeep??? such as driveshafts and or transfer case. also want to redo my lift with a rc 6.5 lift now in doing that it says longer drive shaft and slip yoke eliminator how will this work with dana 44s. now im already in around 2500-3000 bucks maybe more, is this really worth it for once in awhile off roading??? or will my stock stuff be fine ?? it has 104k on it.

 

dana 44 will bolt right up as long as its from a cherokee gearing may be different as auto matics are 355 sticks are 307 not sure what the 44 would be, as you say wont be doing a lot of off roading might check into 8.25 rear from 97 or newer just get from same tranny type as yours ...as for lift change at least gonna need tc drop sye would be better

 

No front dana 44 will bolt in the dana 30 is a pretty toug axle for what your doing with it but if not able to a xj 44 then go for a 97 and up 8.25 29 spline and can hold 35s locked
