Neon srt4 injectors

Neon srt4 injectors
I have a 97 cherokee 4.0 it's got a bigger cam, port and polished head, header, and bored throttle body, I have heard of people putting neon srt4 injectors in them. Is it just a swap and go or will it need to be tuned? The more info the better, Maybe pros and cons too

Just a swap, easy peasy. Theres really no such thing as tuning on these. The point of the neon injectors (703's for your year) is they have four holes as opposed to one. This is beneficial because it creates more of a spray and less of a stream. People say they "atomize" the fuel better. They will deliver the same amount of fuel. I did them on mine, cant really speak for how much difference it made because I also did some other things at the same time.

Srt4 injectors are not what you are looking for. Neon 2.0L injectors are rated at 199cc/min at 48psi, Neon srt4 2.4L stg1 (blue collar black body) are 577cc/min at 58psi. Srt4 injectors are physically about 1/2 inch shorter and are a 9 hole pattern. They would not be a good option for your jeep even if you had a turbo.

OP know your injector type before you order. I'm not sure the change over year from ev1 to ev6. I had no difference when I changed over to a gen 3 design. Mpg stayed exactly the same as did idle, cruise, wot conditions. Your fuel trims will give you a better idea of how balanced your current set up is.

EV1 to EV6 was from 98 to 99.
The 703's & 784's come out of the late 90's Neon's.
I disagree on the tuning comment above. With a few bolt ons and a good tune from Ryan hogan I gained almost 30 hp on the dyno, to the wheels.

I did the swap to 703's on my 95 in November, I could feel the change in idle and throttle response immediately as well as mpg. Was pulling 20+ on the highway after that. I have no way to document this but I feel like the injectors were an important factor in other air/fuel delivery mods I have done since so I would suggest the swap. I can't comment on the tune, I'm running OBDI and just reset after every mod.
