Default Needing more rear clearance

I'm running a 98 xj with a 6" short arm kit and leafs in the rear the front has plenty of wheel gap but my rear...not so much I'm running 37s would really like to go bigger some day but not gonna happen with my rear set up...what do yall guys recommend taller springs and shocks to match and more leafs or a block and shocks to match in the rear? Here is a pic of it on the trailer (straps are on axles so she sits just like this on level ground)

I wouldn't want it any higher than that..You don't need more lift in the rear. Measure for bump stops and put some in.

Your best bet would be a comp cut and rework your exo around it. Maybe some different springs and a shackle relocation to move the axle a few inches back as well as the comp cut or ,to keep your current springs, relocate the spring hangars a few inches back.

Redo the tubing, comp cut the back, stretch it and retub the fender. Cut more off don't add more lift. Or rework your rear lift so it droops more for articulation then it goes up. I have more droop than tuck on my jeep Needing more rear clearance-image-3579346165.jpg

If thats thw rig that was for sale at Young Gunz offroad in Ruston, LA,
I looked at it myself and I feel that everyone is right.
If you're wanting bigger tires, they will not fit in the cage opening and you will cost yourself alot of up travel trying to keep clearance no matter how high you lift it.
Comp cut and stretch is all your left with considering the 4 door body structure.

It sure is its a good rig and does well just the back is so limited. So a comp cut and slight stretch should do the trick? Can anyway send me to a build thread on a comp cut?

well first start with easy stuff. Does it have shackle relocators and extended shackles?

Nope pretty sure its stock location it MAY have longer shackles but I'm pretty sure it's just raised by blocks in rear

well you need to ditch the blocks immediately. New leaf springs, new shocks most likely, new shackles, and relocators. That will do wonders

Very good "Looking" rig on the outside but with that size tires and lift a short arm and blocks in the rear. What differentials/gears/lockers does it have in it front and rear?

That could be an awesome rig if you spent the money on a crawler suspension for it, I like the rig

OK front is D30 with 29 spine chrome alloys and a Eaton elocker far as the front I'm very happy with it I have a full truss that came with it that I plan on putting on when I need to rebuild it or break somthing. The rear is a 8.25 with dana trac-lok and stock axles gears front and rear are 4.88s it's very spunky to be a 4.0 it will roast the 37s when aired up I'm very new to this stuff but have always wanted to get into it that's why I'm asking questions! Iv got one more week of work then I'm off for a week so I'll find out for sure if it's blocks or what not in the rear!

Dana 30 don't have 29 spline shafts. Only 27 or 30. 29 is the c8.25 rear spline count.

Hmm must be 30 and he got confused cause he said it was the biggest axle you could get in the D30 that was in there
