Im getting ready to buy a lift soon guys.i know I wana get up to at least a 6.5 to an 8.5 long arm kit..but I wana know what would be the best lift for my jeep...its my DD, I drive her everyday. I want my baby to be mean and aggressive. I dont rockcrawl i do hit up some trails and she stays in the mud...what lift do you guys recommend? I wana run 315's if not bigger.i already know im going to spend damn near 3k so dont hold back.

why put 8.5in lift if your not crawlin?
seems like a lot of money just for looks..
i wouldnt think theres an 8.5in lift that wont make you xj extremely top heavy.
your gonna need some heavy axles to hold the top down..
and say good bye to your gas mileage.
maybe for a strict trail rig i would consider 8.5in
but for me, and this is just my opinion
i wouldnt run over a 5.5 in lift on a dd
i have a 4.5 long arm and as much as i wanna go taller ( for crawling not for looks ) i dont think its a good idea for my dd.
all just my opinion.
you do what you want and im sure itll look pretty badass. but dont let it be a pavement princess crawl it!
oh and for that tall your talkin more like 5k at least id guess.
37in tires are gonna run ya 1500 at least
the lift probly 2000 minumum
and then you could easily spend another 2-3k on axles and steering upgrades and drivelines.

this is my favorite lift for an XJ. not cheap by anymeans but theyre tough as hell and ride good on road as well as off road.

so basically cost effectiveness isnt their for a big lift?
...what about a 6.5in lift with An SYE and all the goodies and 33 in general grabbers?...i really didn't plan on cutting fenders. Or changing the axles I got a 8.25 27 spline in the rear and a d30 up front. Can those hold my 33's? That I plan on having.

taller tires do make the rig taller. not sure who would actually tell you that. its just simple math. for every inch larger the tire you gain a half inch in overall height.
