My Superwinch LP8500 failed on me recently. It was only 7 months old so I took it back to the place I bought it from but they no longer sell them so I could only get a refund on it.

I need a new winch but I only have $500 to spend. I have synthetic line already so steel cable is not a problem. Any suggestions?

I like my XRC8 Smittybilt. Paid $300 for it, and Ive used it a lot, mostly pulling other people out. Works great.
