Default Need A Little Help Getting Started

I just bought a 1993 Jeep Cherokee 2 Door Sport. I really like the look of any lifted vehicle. I really would love to lift my jeep. Money is tight for me right now so that just means I have quite a bit of time to decide exactly what I want to do. I'm going to be perfectly honest, I am 16, new at this, and I probably will very rarely take this off road, and if I do I wont be going crazy with anything at all.

I had my eyes on a 4.5" lift from Rough Country because of the price they offer and because my friend has a 3" lift on his Cherokee and I really think it would look much better with just a little higher lift. I really just need some help on what kind of rims and tires to get, and what all I must do to make this a good, lifted, daily driver. Do I have to change gear ratios and all that good stuff too? Please go into great detail.

I just need advise, so please don't criticize me for only wanting a on-road vehicle, I'm appologize but I have a lifted Suzuki Eiger I take off road with my buddies from time to time and I would like for my Jeep so stay on the road.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

If you want 33s on it you might want to change ratio that's only if you want all the power you have now

For 33's and to DD its not worth the money to regear... if you have a 5 speed then swap to a automatic Cherokees axles but if yours is a auto which it probably is then its not worth the cost to regear... RC is your best bang for your Buck...

I have a 2000 Classic with 3.5 Rusty's lift, am running 285-70/17 (32.8") BFG KM2 tires, with stock 3:55 gears. Had to do the fender trim to fit the tires but that was real cheap, did it myself with a skill saw. I think in the future the lift will get bigger but for now it is doing fine. The cheapest wheels I found were Cragar soft 8 at ~89 apiece from Summit.
