Default Need help with running hot

I know another xj having cooling problems, I have a 2001 xj with a 4.0 and aw4. It has a 7.5 inch lift 35s and 4.88 gears I have replaced everything I can think of and I’m still having trouble on the highway especially on hills getting hot (up to 235 before I stopped) here’s a list of what I have replaced
mishimoto radiator
new ac condenser
3 new thermostats
thermostat housing
upper and lower rad hoses
new head and head gasket
new harmonic balancer
banks header
new cats and full exhaust
trans cooler separate from radiator
I have had the Jeep nearly five years and was hoping to take it on the trails near silverton Colorado with my dad and have failed every time I’ve tried to get it up there. I am at my wits end and don’t know what to do.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

Make sure the coolant system was burped and all the air is out. Alo try some Water Wetter or similar from Royal Purple. Also check your radiator cap rating that can effect the boiling point. tolerance.

I had the same problem with that much lift. Just for giggles, take your hood off and give it a try. I bet you will find it cools just fine. The problem is that with that much lift, the air being forced underneath the Jeep builds up a slight positive pressure and is forced up underneath the engine compartment and then competes with the air the engine is pulling through the radiator. I solved it by venting the hood just behind the front lip of the hood. That is an area of negative pressure and helps pull air through the radiator

  1. Does the electric fan come on when it's supposed to?
  2. Does it turn in the correct direction?
  3. How's the fan clutch?

I have a 2001 and mine started to rear a little hotter and my heater core was plugged . I flushed the heater core and it did bring down the engine temp. Is your heater core plugged up ?
