What about 2" coils and 2" leaf springs in back? You can always add a shackle to the leafs for more lift later...check out Old Man Emu leafs...

If you think its going to stay at 2" do the coils now. If you think in a year you might be inclined to bump up to 3"+ then do the spacers and toss 'em when you bump up to the taller coils...

Then spacers & shackles. Build it up as you get the cash.

Easiest and cheapest option may be 2" coil spacer in front and 2" add a leaf or bastard pack in rear.

If it were me I'd find used poly spacers and get those "chevy lowering shakles" for like $35 at any parts store.

Like $85 for a 2" lift....

Go ahead and use stock shocks.. but dont wonder ask later why they will be shot. lifting 2 inches is taking an additional 2 inches of the travel away from them.. and they dont have much to begin with.

My wife's TJ has been on stockers with a 2" lift and its been fine for awhile.

Your not maxing out shocks all the time.

Nothing wring with running stockers for a while til you got the cash.

Yea, not that its horrible..but it will have an affect over time.

If its a pavement pounder then its itll be fine for a lot longer.

We dont have any trails around here so its maanly highway or grave/dirt road that it sees but were also thinking about doing the same lift to my moms jeep witch she uses for the mail rought 150 miles of back roads everyday so we would probly do shocks on hers and wait on mine for a while. Were a jeep faimily have 3 xj's right now and always looking for another
