Question Need Answers on Going to a Bigger Tire!

Im a little new to the modding world and would like to get some suggestions on what i should do. I have a 1994 Cherokee Sport. Has 3 inch blocks in the rear and bigger springs in the front. I am currently running a 31X10.50 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S with factory 15 inch Liberty Wheels. The only rub i get is when the wheel is at full turn. Doesnt rub fenders wells at all. I am considering moving up to a 32x11.50 mud tire and i am wondering if i am gonna need wheel spacers(if so how much) and if i would have to trim any of the inside of my fender wells. I still have the stock fender flares on and i dont wanna remove them. You can check my photos if youd like to see my current set up.

1" spacers will do the trick so you don't rub on your control arms but your going to hit your fenders with that size tire. Fender chop is really needed to run bigger tires on a smaller lift. You can get a set of four machined spacers on ebay for about $100. I have been running them on my xj for over a year with no problems at all.

Good quality leaf springs don't require relocation boxes

First off welcome from a fellow Tennessee wheeler. It will really depend on the tire. An aggressive mud tire with big side lugs will be wider than an all terrain and just because it says 32 on the sidewall doesn't mean it's actually that tall. Most of the cheaper companies as well as some of the more expensive like BFG and Maxxis tend to run small. A 32" Maxxis often measures just shy of 31" and all terrains tend to run smaller than mud terrains. Check the specs on the tire and see how tall it actually is.

I prefer the stock ride so I run 1.5in blocks in the rear. Don't let anyone tell you different. Small blocks are just fine, and can take serious abuse.

However often times the stock springs are sacked out. IF so it would be good to replace them. But it will ride a lot rougher, like a truck, instead of a car.

I run 33" tires, was running 32in tires. 2in lift is all you need if you stay with the stock backspacing.

You will have to slightly trim the edges of the fenders if you are discoed. And you should add 1.5in of bump stop front and rear.

Move to 33's and with a 2in lift you have to move up to two inches of additional bump stop. And trim just a little more on the fenders. However you can still keep the stock fender flares.

As you can tell you will run the lower control arms at full turn. You can eliminate this with aftermarket lower control arms. Or adjusting your steering stops.

Also 1in spacers will do it. But you will need to trim a little fender flare if you go this route.

Not trying to talk you into anything. But the 32 9.5 swampers have a lot deeper tread. Check out the specs on them.

I take it you are not discoed? Because if you were you would rub a little even with 31's.

I was worried as heck about trimming the stock fenders/flares. I loved the look.

But now if I were to do it again. I would by the tire I wanted and just make it work. I mean you are looking at some mean nasty tires. So may as well get alittle performace out of them. A little more GC never hurts.

That is my opinion.

I am at 3.5in of lift maybe a little more in the rear, with 33" simex copies. And its too high for me. I will be lowering it soon enough.
