I know it will fit, but i need tranny aconpatibility. Can i just yank a 5.0 from a ford with a t5 tansmission? Where can i get adapters if not? Im a 5.0 guy, built two 5.0 mustangs but cant do much with just going fast.

 

Well you will have to make your own motor mounts and trans crossmember no one makes swap parts for it.They do make swap parts for a gm small block and ls family tho.And the t5 was only made rwd so it won't work if you want a 4x4 with out a ton of work like using a divorced t case.If you want a stick 4x4 cheapest is the m5od out of a bronco/f150.Upgrade would be a nv4500 but not sure if it will fit the trans tunnel with out beating or cutting.

 

That's a whole lot of work for not much gain.

 

You can use a 3550 for the trans, i know certain year Rubicons used them so they will work with the 241

 

There are much better engine swap options out there that are well supported with parts and better suited engines for an XJ.
