Default My Moody Jeep

So it seems that whenever I'm off-roading and I hit a sizable mud/water hole my jeep stalls out and won't start back up. After sitting in the water for a couple minutes it starts back up and just drives on out like a dream. Anyone tell me what's going on and how to prevent this?

Are you splashing mud and water into your air intake?

Water hitting electrical components, maybe the distributor cap and rotor.

Once the components dry it runs again.

Soultion...dielectric grease every connection and silicon the cap's mating surface to the distributor.

I had the EXACT same symptoms. Literally to the T. Check your cps. It's probably still good, but the wire housing is likely coming apart right at the sensor, do when water hits it it is shorting out until it dries.
