I didn't want any carpet I was getting sick from the moldy smell in the jeep. After taking the seats off I took the skins off the seats and washed them 2 times to get rid of the 160k miles of dirt and grime on the seats and the smells associated with that.

Mine gets hot from the automatic trans. I see yours is a stick so it might not be as much of a problem. The places that will get hot from the exhaust is just in front of the passenger front seat from the cat converter and the rear passenger floor from the muffler. You could make heat shields though. My floor mats haven't melted but I did double layer them in the front cause m fiance' complained about the floor getting hot. I cut the carpet about an inch from the floor so it shouldn't ever get wet if I get water inside. Really, your carpet probably got soaked just because of the holes in the floor.
Any time you want to go hit me up. I won't be up and running for another week. I have a bad u joint in my front drive line some where and I have to figure that out.
Just do it. If its not your daily driver gut the interior and just get it done. You could really knock this out in a weekend if you had an extra set of hands.

My carpet weighed way over a hundred pounds. it was soaked and disgusting . I love having no carpet now. If it gets muddy after a trail ride you just hose/powerwash it out. I only have 1/2 holes for drains in the low spots on my floor. I want to go to a boat shop and get some hull plugs,the ones that are the quick release type

This is only a guestimate...
Resin 1 gallon=2x $30
Fiberglass= 1.5oz mat maybe 6 yards @ $2.75/yd
17 oz Biax maybe 5 yards @ $6.60/yd
Flashing, rivets, roof cement= roughly $25
Around $135
I ordered a bunch of other fiberglass because I am doing some things to my jet ski and I have to repair one of the corners of the cargo area in the jeep still.
I would order a little more to make sure you don't run out.
In reality you can probably get away with not using the chop mat. I like using chop because it allows a good base layer because it soaks up resin really nice. Its also nice to use in corners because you can just tear pieces off and wet out corners.
Also if your going to do this make sure you get polyester resin vs epoxy. Epoxy resin does not have any heat ratings where as the polyester resin I used is good up to 200 something degrees.
I bought everything from uscomposites.com out of florida

I was going to look for some at a pool supply store because they are more of the plug style, but the ones you are talking about are nice. I almost want to put in scupper drains in mounted from below the floor.
