Default My first lift

I can get 31x10.50 tires (over 90% tread), a 3 inch pro comp lift with shocks, and a transfer case drop kit for $450 would you recommend this? What else do I Need for this to be done properly? Do I need to buy my new wheels before i put tires on or can I run stock wheels for 2 weeks?

Full leaf packs or add a leaf? You can run stockers with the lift, it will just look funny.

31" tires will fit stock wheels. It's your money not mine. Procomp offer a few version of 3" lifts, you'll have to be more specific. If you want a done properly answer, would also need info on your XJs condition. But fact is if you want it done properly plane to spend another $450 at least.

XJ runs fine. Nothing wrong with it except for air compressor, what would I need to spend another $450 on? It's a lift with the spacers up front and the leaf in the back.

How many miles on your Jeep and how old is it does it have manual or auto trans and what motor.

What I mean is at 3" you are at the limit for the stock lower control arms and track bar. If you want flex you'll want extended swaybar links or disconnects. You might get driveline vibes, so a TC drop might work, but chances are you'll need a SYE. Your going to need to extend the brake lines. IF there is wear to the steering components or ball joints, you'll want to do those. OR you will get Death Wobble, eventually. Old drive shaft U-joints will decide to fail soon after the lift. I could go on but the point is there lots more to lifting a vehicle than just making it higher.
