What do you think would be better. A super 44 or a thunderbolt muffler. I'm looking for something loud but nice sounding for my xj
If you have any other ones you like let me know.
Thanks!

I like my Thrush muffler. Similar to the Flowmaster, but not as expensive.

Personally, I would avoid Flowmaster if you want loud. I had Flowmasters on two trucks, both with gutted cats, and both were some of the quietest vehicles I've had. My XJ with the Thrush, and stock cat is louder than either of those trucks were, and has a decent tone to it.

I run a 50 series; a lot louder than you think once broken in.
Sounds great under accel and has a deep growl at idle.

I run a super 44 on my xj. It's loud but not in obnoxious way, and it got a good tone.

I've got the turbo on it now, had the welded but destroyed it on some rocks and replaced it with the turbo due to cost. Once this one is destroyed (won't be long), I'm going with another welded muffler.

I'm running the Thrush Welded with no cat and it sounds good. It's louder than I'd like and if my jeep was my DD, I'd prob change it out but for occasional driving I don't mind it. I'd have probably loved it when I was younger. It's not too loud, but louder than I'd like.

That's what I'm running also for my DD but I'm 20 so maybe that's why it's not too loud. Or maybe because I was use to driving a 2000 Dodge dakota V8 with the muffler blown out just from rust from new hampshire and no a/c so windows always down.

I think they prob sound better with a cat in front of them.

Id go with the SLP loud mouth awesome sounding on a XJ. Loud deep throaty tone. Sounds 100X better then a flowmaster.
