Default muffle guard?

So I beat the hell out of my muffler last time I went wheelin. I've looked for a skid plate for a while, no such luck. Anyone have the same problem or a fix/fabbed up something?

Take it slow and get a bigger lift. Just kidding, well not really those will help but I guess u can make a skid, have it come off the unibody rail.1 Or a full belly skid????

Flowmaster makes an offroad series of mufflers that come with thicker housings. I would look into those if you have the money.

I gave up on the idea of a skid plate for the muffler and just replaced it with the cherry bomb. They fit up inside the rails better so they're unlikely to get hit and if they do, they're strong and rounded so they wont get hung up on anything.

I've smashed quite a few mufflers and wrapped tailpipes around the axle. Now I just don't even bother with a tailpipe, makes it easier to replace the muffler if it gets smashed. I've always wondered if there was a muffler skid lol.

x2. thats what I did. I like the idea of losing the tailpipe section too! it was a PITA.

Legally you need the exhaust to exit after the passenger cabin, which is the very back of the vehicle. thats the law here anyway.

So for me I just continued the tail section and hung it up higher above/beside the leaf spring so I'd have to basically screw up my suspension and gas tank in order to hit my tailpipe again.

I got a cherry bomb.
It's got scrapes all over even a couple dents but never busted it.

They are great! Never get caught on anything.
