Mounting Winch off-center?

Mounting Winch off-center?
I want to mount my Winch behind the front crossmember (under the radiator). However, if I center the winch, it hits the steering box. Is there any reason why the winch couldn't be mounted off-center towards the passenger's side? The mount is 1/4" plate.
