good idea to change the tranny mount at the same time.

I've got my mount set up and ready to go with a problem though: the engine is off kilter - it's leaning to the right.

I'm thinking about trying to start it to see if it'll pop into place (passenger side is not secured, driver's is).

Good or bad idea, since I don't have anything to get it in place right now?

Did you loosen your tranny mounts first?

Default Both sides or just the one?

I have the passenger side loose (of course), but not the driver's side.

Should I loosen that one up and give it a go?
Might it pop back in under it's own volition?

No don't start it up, just loosen the other bolts and move it around with a pry bar to get it into place.

Did you loosen the tranny mounts???? It is important to loosen them so the motor and tranny come up together and not bind and get everything in a bind. Keep the left side loose also and try again. Once in only snug up the big bolt and then back it off a 1/4 turn. Run it that way for a couple weeks and then you can adjust how smooth it is with the big bolt. The small ones should be 40 lbs.

Here is a vid from my dash cam stuck to windshield with cheap mount(picks up every little pump or vibe).. You can read the lic on the car.. You can see if there was a bad vibe the vid would show it.. Looks smooth on vid and feels good and solid.

I just bought a couple of Brown Dog mounts for my 96' Classic XJ, so I guess I better tell the tech not to overtighten the bolts as I sure don't want them to fail prematurely!

I tried the Brown Dog "rubber" mounts.
Did not like them at all.
Went back to OEM rubber mounts.
I could never get the Brown Dogs adjusted properly to get rid of the vibration.
Might have just been me, but I carried a wrench around with me for two weeks, making adjustments.
Just my 2 cents!

Love my Brown Dog mounts on my 4.0 Wrangler. Yes, do not torque them down. Yes, daily driver.
