Is the C8.25 diff burly enough to take an LSD or helical locker?

 

The 8.25 is very stout. However, I've never seen an LSD application for it. Jeep installed the Dana 35 in the back of XJ's that received an LSD. My switchable OX locker works very well in my 8.25

 

Most would say yes.

A general answer for a general question.

 

I have a Truetrac LSD in my 8.25 (helical-gear type). Works great!

 

You must have never looked for one because there is several limited slips available for the 8.25. However if it was me I would put a lunchbox locker in it, cheaper and it works better.

 

I agree put a real locker in it unless its just a street rig then leave it alone

They make a True Trac, Duragrip, Auburn and there is a factory limited slip for the 8.25. My 8.25 came stock with a limited slip.
