I'm in the parts gathering stage for my WJ swap. In prep for the crossover steering, I will need to redo the trackbar mount. I'll likely go with ruffstff for all the steering. However for the axle side TB mount, theirs looks like it is further inboard than some of the others I've seen, but it is hard to tell with certainty. Both the JKS and the TNT look like the mount further out and would allow for a longer trackbar.

I've seen the knuckle-mounted track bars, but that is more than I want to do on this axle. I may try to cut off the existing portion of my RE frame side mount and weld on the ruffstuff outside frame bracket, which would allow me to move the mount forward and further out, while maintaining my RE TB brace. This is the best way I can think of to getting a longer trackbar with off the shelf parts.

Basically, how can I get the longest trackbar with off the shelf mounts?

Any info on the axle side? Ruffstuff is the most outboard frame side I've found, and I think I can weld it to my existing RE mount after I cut off most of it, and that let's me keep the brace.

Post pics with your TB once you get it on

Never mind I misread your post. Are you using the ruffstuff trackbar kit too? Can you show the angles with the draglink, and give me the eye to eye lengths of your TB and DL?

The heim and misalignments fit in the re mount. You'll only gain 2" at most is it really worth the extra work and money. I'll get you some pictures when I pick everything up, my buddy has everything he's a real welder so I have him weld stuff that might kill me

I don't know if it's worth it that's why I'm asking. If 2" was the difference between bump steer or none, then it's probably worth it. I'd be interested in your overall lengths of the two bars

Got screwed a work last night just got home. The track bar is 9" shorter then the drag link I don't have the measurements on hand. I talked to many people who said it'll be fine it'll shift to the drivers side at full droop but no bump stop. I'll let you know after next weekend

I found this trackbar mount from rusty's. Figure they probably can't mess up a simple mount. It looks like it may outboard the TB mount a good 1.5-2", and is adjustable. May give me the little extra length on the track bar to minimize bumpsteer. Thoughts?

Took a while but here's what it looks like. The drag link isn't tight on the pitman arm.

Ruffstuff axle side mount? Length of TB and DL? Have you had it on the road yet? Any bumpsteer?

Ya everything's ruffstuff but the frame side.
Track bar 27.5
Drag link 36.5
It's only left the garage on a trailer still waiting on sway bar mounts. Every one I talked to said road manners will be fine

Cool. I was thinking it looked about 8" shorter. Give us an update when you drive it!

Did you go with the high angle ends on both sides of the DL? I'm thinking I'll need one for each end to get max droop out of the DL without binding up/destroying TREs all day. I've seen some builds make due with a single on the pitman arm. But it just seems like that would force the knuckle end to the limit of its travel

It's the ruffstuff 3/4 kit it comes with high misalignment on both sides and high misalignment washers for the outside
