Thing is, on this forum there are 18 yo kids whose Cherokee is their first car, and guys who have been mucking with Jeeps for 35 years. There's a big variance in knowledge, a large knowledge base, and alot of guys who are trying to absorb it. Which is cool. And there's a bit of the usual forum bull$hit - a few people acting like an authority on everything...and then you figure out they don't even understand basic engineering. You get that anywhere...but not too much here. LOTS of good folks, and good information on this forum.

The RC stuff I've purchased seems well enough built. It appears that they got a bad rep from selling garbage, made the effort to improve their products and are still trying to live down their past. Their products are priced right for this class of vehicle. And that's part of the XJ's appeal. Hell, I've got less money in this entire Jeep than I do in just the landing gear for my aircraft project, or just the transmission in my F350. And I really like the Jeep.

 

the model 32 wouldn't have helped you anyway because buying a 1.25 die is more expensive than buying a different track bar altogether shaving a chunk off the diff cover wouldn't take long at all. sounds like the path of least resistance to me like I said, as long as you're bending it properly I agree it won't be an issue. but kinking it may have been. just remember to take into account that you'll be shortening the track bar a little by adding a bend. or, since you can fabricate, 3rd option would be remove the track bar bracket, scoot it toward the front of the jeep an inch and burn it in hot (frame plates underneath would be ideal)


I misread your original post. looks like you were talking redrilling/shaving frame side? idk.
