Metalcloak 3.5" Duroflex lift kit
#91
Call metal cloak, but if you pull the last leaf out that you can see in the pictures:
The flat one, its really thick and will probably allow for less lift in the rear, or if you had a heavy rear bumper/tire carrier in the rear, it will probably be closer to the 3.5" I measured empty with no fuel in the gas tank. I haven't measured since the first ~50 miles. I will have to measure tomorrow, after my XJ no longer looks like this:

Don't tempt me with the Smittybilt XRC rear bumper/ tire carrier I've had my eye on! LOL
I need to get rid of my D35 too.

Thanks bud! I'd appreciate the measurements. The 3rd one in the pack is the one that's normally removed but that flat overload spring might be an option. I'll call them tomorrow.

Lets transfer this conversation to PM's so we don't clog up this thread. LOL

Like I said in PM though, HD no lift relo brackets, stock shackles, full leaf pack and cut, rotated spring perches, would be another option to run. I installed it with no relo brackets first and I feel like relo brackets are absolutely necessary after driving around like that for a while.

Awesome man! You'll be happy with it. I'm sure it did add a little, but I installed everything at one time, so I'm not sure exactly how much. Just another reason I removed the 3rd leaf, to help compensate for that and the relo brackets, shackles. Eventually I will get a new rear axle with properly welded spring perches and rear tire carrier. If at any point I feel like the rear is starting to sag too much, I can always put that 3rd leaf back in as well.

Not only ride quality, but flex as well. You can see the stock shackle pulled almost completely forward in the stock location. This doesn't allow the shackle to rotate forward on droop, a very limiting factor.

Took it out today and finally remembered to take some pics. The wrangler guys I was wheelin with were quite impressed. The upper coils still had some droop left in them, brake line were fine, not 100% sure on the shock travel, I didn't measure, but it seemed fine. The dual rate coils are outstanding, very flexy going over uneven bumps and valleys, yet firm and controlled on the road. The rear setup with shackles and brackets worked extremely good as well. Very happy with this setup so far. The only negative I can continue to point out is the swaybar disconnects, they are a pain to disconnect and reconnect on uneven terrain. It's the nature of the design, but I might end up getting a Currie antirock setup or JKS quicker disconnects at least.

I see you a running aftermarket fender flares. I'm trying to use the stock flares with 31x10.5s. The larger bump stops in the kit are definitely too short to avoid stuffing the the rear tire.
