Metalcloak 3.5" Duroflex lift kit
So after months of deliberation on what brand lift to buy, I finally pulled the trigger on a Metalcloak lift. My shopping cart at 4wheelparts, was full of Rubicon Express/Currie parts, to build my 3.5" lift, until I learned of this company. In light of this discovery, a month long research project went in to it and I learned JK guys love it and rate it among the best lifts money can buy. I did not find a single XJ review of the lift on a forum, other than the winners of the XJ lift giveaway on another forum and 1 guy on youtube, I didn't see anyone else running this kit. So I intend on writing a full review of the quality, install and durability over time, on this forum to bring light to this revolutionary kit.
*Parts that I have added, that are shown in the picture:
Rubicon Express #1801 HnT SYE (changed to IRO SYE)
BDS 4 degree shims & center pins (changed to IRO zinc plated steel shims)
Moog upper front control arm bushings
I need to order a rear CV driveshaft too.
For now, if you would like any pictures of the parts up close, before I install them next weekend, let me know and I'll be happy to post em up.
This is just an introductory thread, I will post more in detail when I start a build thread.

Yep me too. It's fun being one of the first to own a kit, but scary at the same time, haha.
At least I know the OME stuff is well proven.

Nope, but they sell a kit without shocks, so you can buy them separate if you wanted.

They cater to the Wrangler crowd.
The purpose of these coils is to create a longer spring when unloaded (suspension droop). This helps keep the coils seated and from falling out.
The first rate coils stay collapesed, and you drive on the second rate. Then at droop the first rate expands. Good for crawlers with a lot of droop.
Not to be confused with progressive rate coils.

Their shocks are what made them famous... Floating reservoir with a piston out the top and bottom... allows for much more travel.
They ride nice too! My uncle has them on his JK.... comparable to my fathers 1500$ Kings but with more travel and less adjustability. Pretty unique idea. Gotta be interesting finding somewhere on the front of an XJ to fit them though.
Thanks for the link!

^ From their website, lol. Come on Eric, get some XJ bumpers and armor going and I will probably buy them. I like their style and design on the JK/TJ stuff.

It was probably my videos you saw online (youtube.com/jeeppatriotchannel)
I installed my lift, and promptly ended up with engine problems, so my XJ has been sitting for a couple of months, but finally got it sorted out and was driving around today, put 25+ miles just making sure the repairs I did to the engine were good. Its soooooo much more comfortable on the metalcloak suspension than on what it had previously (PO put on 2" pucks and an add a leaf in the rear and some white shocks)

Would there be anything wrong with adding another inch with spacers and shackles or something like that? I like the look of that lift but I really want to get at least 4.5".
