Congrats on the lift. I cant wait to see it installed, that pile of parts is looking pretty sexy. I'm interested in what you think of those arms and dual rate springs both on and off road.

Thanks bro! I will sure post up when I find out, lol.

Well tonight, I got the rear end "almost" done. I broke 3 out of the 4 bolts holding the rear bumpstops to the frame. They were the first bolts I started with too. Oh well, that's minor, considering everything else went smooth...except the U-bolts.

Why do lift companies send Dana35 U bolts, even when you request C8.25? I've seen it happen a dozen times, I don't understand it. Especially with a lift of this price, kinda pissed about that. Especially considering how long shipping takes to Hawaii and at Christmas time.

Probably going to order a C8.25 U-bolt yoke kit and boomerang shackles tomorrow from Iron Rock Offroad. Maybe even their zinc plated U bolts, depending on what Metalcloak can do for me. I'm hoping for at least 2nd day air. We'll see.

I will post pics tomorrow, when it's daylight.

If you need to, the u-bolts should be able to be sourced locally on the big island. Standard 3".
I have never seen zinc-plated u-bolts, painted mine before and after installing.

Oahu should have them as well. Let me introduce you to zinc plated U-bolts.

Rear axle before paint

After 3 coats of Rust Oleum Hammered Black spray paint

Looks more like gunmetal and I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out.

After the rear end was done. I removed the 3rd leaf out of these packs. This helped offset the shims and future boomerang shackles. Once I get a rear tire carrier bumper and gas tank skid, if they settle too much, I can always add that leaf back in. Pretty nice.

Right now it still has the factory ECCO 15x7 wheels, with bald 30x9.5r15 tires. I will soon be getting Pro Comp 1069 15x8 3.75" BS wheels with Goodyear Duratrac 31x10.5r15 tires. Can't wait for that.

At least I know the OME stuff is well proven.
Thanks for doing this writeup. The science on their website was what convinced me to get MC stuff over Rock Krawler, and many of the other brands that couldn't distinguish themselves. I have the kit on a Wrangler, but the ride on and off-road really is top notch.

If any of the things don't fit right, or if the kit can be improved, write Matson and let them know - they'll make it right.

How does the track bar look? From the photo, it doesn't use a TRE but isn't a double shear either.

It's a heim joint, just as good but not as beefy as a double sheer.

I wouldn't say it's less beefy it's just an inferior design. Don't get me wrong it will work fine but they just don't flex as much and can wear out sooner.

It's pure 100% american beef! Solid chromoly zinc chromecast steel. It uses a rubber bushing on the axle end, for dampening, the steel bolt sleeve is very thick. The through bolts are massive and require drilling the holes larger, for both frame and axle mounts. It does use a heim joint, which I am not crazy about either, but I will get my service life out of it, and convert it to double shear with IRO kit.
