the real purpose of the trac bar is to center your axle. when you lift it it will be noticeably off and you'll experience some bad things such as uneven tire wear, as well as the stock one will probably need replacing anyway or you'll get some steering problems.

if you went 3" instead you probably wouldn't need an sye, and you won't need the brake lines until you decide to disconnect or throw away your sway bars.

I might just go with the 3" and some 31's. Overall it'll be cheaper and I'll maintain the little gas mileage a Jeep gets.

So if I went with a 3" Lift and 31's I would still benefit from a Double Sheer Trac Bar? I could keep the stock brake lines and wouldn't need an SYE or new drive shaft. Then I can save up do everything else I want and then LIFT IT MORE!

Yes you would.

It should have been this way from the factory. The bushings can be replaced instead of getting a completely new bar.

How do I know what size driveshaft to get? I'm trying to price the whole thing out but don't know how to determine what length I need.

I am 9 months in on my first lifted Cherokee, 3" zone w31's. things I wish i knew beforehand. Shackle relocation makes a huge difference in ride. Lower CA drop brackets have the same effect on the front and cost less than long arms. Also stock backspaced wheels rub the lower control arms. Brake lines definitely need to be looked at and adjusted or lengthened over 3" or they become a limiting strap. The rest of the info here is solid. The stock trackbar can serve light duty and be relocated over a little in the stock bracket and keep the axle centered but put the recommended upgrades here on your list.
