making a long arm for a 4.5 lift rc
Has enyone made long arms for a rc 4.5 lift bottom and top? How would I do the measurements and where would be the best place to weld the brackets for arms.

For the $,get the upgrade.
By the time you are done making them, you may have more money in parts/supplies/labor than you could have bought them for.
Although,it would be nice to say you built a set.

I've built axle housings and stuff like that, just asking if enyone has done it and remembers there measurements. I can pick up there parts in my garage free, time and labor don't matter to me.

radius arms? just put the link mounts where you want. usually to the crossmember or a little bit before.
3/4 link? put them where they fit, make sure you have decent separation, do some research.

I wouldnt recommend them though.
currie jhonny joints, quality 1.25" heims, etc are better choices.
when building a radius arm, use those at the frame side only, bushings everywhere else to take care of defection. you can use a hard joint in another point of the arms (uca at the arm end), but you won't be gaining much in terms of performance.

well "x-flex" joints are a rough country thing, so just rough country.

GOOGLE man. Did you want us to supply you with a complete shopping list, blueprints, cut list, ect? You will find that most on here aren't going to completely spoon feed you. It sounds like you have alot more research and exploring to do on the subject before you start designing and building.
Building a long arm upgrade to work with rough countrys 4.5" coils, shocks, leaf springs, steering, and track bar; is going to be exactly the same as building one for Rubicon Express, or Rustys, or OME, or even a pieced together kit. The brand doesnt matter, just do your research.
If you are stuck on doing it yourself to try and save money then I would do some surfing aroung RuffStuff's site. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/ They will have almost everything you need. http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...g/3LINKKT.html
