Default LSD?

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

I'm not able to check right now but I am curious, does my 00 XJ (4WD) with an 8.25 rear axle have a LSD in it? Thanks in advance. It's been driving me nuts and I don't have access to my XJ right now.

You can email chrysler with the vin and request a build sheet, but it is Thanksgiving day so who knows when you'll get an answer. A friend of mine requested one for his new Ram and got a reply in minutes, my request took a couple of days as did another friends for his XJ.

Thanks, I sent their customer service an E-mail. I was just curious. I won't be able to add one if it didn't have it. If I'm allowed to keep it, my wife said I'm not allowed to do anything else to it at all. I keep trying to tell her that if I add a few hundred lbs in bumpers and skid plates it will squat an inch more.

Jack up the rear end so both wheels are in the air, spin one wheel. If both wheels spin the same direction you have an LSD, if they spin opposite it's open.

This actually is the fastest way, and easiest with the use of one jack

Thanks guys. The question of weather or not my wife's XJ had one was bugging me and I'm not around the Jeep to jack it up. I'll give that a shot tomorrow though, thanks for the info.

No prob. Emailing Chrysler is a good reference to have. They got back to me with a build sheet 2 days after I emailed them. But yea once it's jacked up you'll get yor answer in a spin

Go on the search feature on CF and type in build sheet there is a link here for it. That's how I got it, I forgot off hand what it is though
